Taskerman
Why does this project exist?
Taskerman is a task management system organized in weekly kanbans. It came from the need to organize my personal tasks and side projects in a more structured way, without the complexity of tools like Jira or Notion, and with the flexibility to customize it to my liking.
I usually work by weeks and I don’t like tying tasks to specific hours. I know that if by day X I need to do tasks A, B and C, what matters to me is getting those tasks done, not the order in which I do them. If some have priority over others, I simply organize them by importance.

What else can you do with Taskerman?
Taskerman is a different Trello, a different way of thinking. I’ve been adding features like members and roles, but I still need to add real-time updates, and let’s be honest, improve the UI/UX.

Architecture
Taskerman is split into two independent modules:
- Chandler: The backend API, built with Node.js and Express. It handles tasks, weekly kanbans and business logic. It uses a PostgreSQL database to store data
- Mónica: The user interface, built with Vue.js. It communicates with Chandler through a REST API to display weekly kanbans, allow task creation and editing, and manage the workflow
To do
- Add websockets to update the kanban in real time
